We’ve seen the 12 Volt concerts at Mauer Park dozens of times. The band formed in 2007 as punk rock band with a set list of fixed songs. Along with a lot of changing members and much more spontaneous concerts, they left the concept of set list, while the former guitarist (singer songwriter) took over the sticks. The music opens up to funky, groove, garage and soul. Pieces are constant experimentation jams (Sometimes even a bit jazzy, which was not intended), spontaneous and adapted to the situation of the environment and people around, fresh and never practiced before. With that the breakthrough came and every concert is unique.
The message doesn’t stop there, which is already a lot. The 12 Volts have no intention of writing a new ecological bible, at the same time they pay a lot of attention to ecological issues combined with the pleasure of living and making music. They go around with a fantastic mobile soundsystem that runs on ecological energy and powers amplifiers and lights. They transport their equipment on bicycles. All the equipment, including the soundsystem, is completely self-produced, home-made! It is possible to build a new world, to build it starting from the street, and not to flagellate ourselves but to live with joy!

Wir haben die 12 Volt Konzerte im Mauerpark dutzende Male gesehen. Die Band startete 2007 mit einer festen Liste eingeübter, schnellen Punkrock-Songs. Durch die vielen wechselnden Mitgliedern um mehr spontane Konzerten zu geben, verließen sie das Konzept der Setlist, wobei der ehemalige Gitarrist (Singer Songwriter) die Stöcke in die Hand nahm. Die Stücke sind nun durchweg Experimental-Jams und es geht eher in Richtung Funky, Groove, Garage und Soul. Die Musik orientiert sich an das spontane Umfeld und die Stimmung des Publikums, frisch und nie vorgefertigt. Damit kam der Durchbruch und jedes Konzert ist dadurch einzigartig.
Aber damit ist noch nicht alles gesagt. Obwohl 12Volt nicht die Absicht hat, eine neue Öko-Bibel zu schreiben, achten sie sehr auf klimaschonende Nachhaltigkeit, verbunden mit dem Vergnügen zu leben und Musik zu machen. Sie arbeiten mit einem fantastischen Soundsystem, das mit Öko-Strom Verstärker und Lichter versorgt. Sie transportieren ihre Ausrüstung auf Fahrrädern. Alle Geräte, einschließlich des Soundsystems, sind komplett selbst hergestellt und hausgemacht! Es ist möglich, eine neue Welt zu bauen, sie von der Straße aus zu bauen und uns nicht zu geißeln, sondern mit Freude zu leben!
